On Sunday, Jan. 5, investigators at the New Canaan Police Department received a report of an assault that took place between Arlind Bajraktari, 19, of New Canaan, and a friend.

According to police, during an assault outside a Millport Avenue apartment, Bajraktari allegedly left his victim with a broken nose and dislocated jaw. The investigation into the alleged assault also determined that Bajraktari took his victim’s cellphone to prevent him from making an emergency call.

The investigation led to an arrest warrant for Bajraktari for second-degree assault, disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call.

On Tuesday, Feb. 4, officers from the New Canaan Police Department arrested Bajraktari at his home without incident and charged on the warrant and for violating an active Protective Order. Bajraktari is currently being held on a $55,0000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
